A well-made café cubano has a thick layer of sweet cream floating over strong espresso.

Ingredients
1/2 cup coffee (finely ground)
1 1/2 cups water
1/4 cup white sugar
Instructions
Add 1/2 cup water to the pot and add coffee. Heat the pot in medium heat.
Fill the cups with sugar. Meanwhile, spoon 1 teaspoon of sugar into each espresso
Boil the rest of the water.
Mix the coffee and sugar. Remove the pot from the heat once the brewing process is complete. Place 1 teaspoon of coffee into 1 of the cups and stir vigorously into the sugar to create the thick frothy.
Add the remaining coffee. Pour the remaining coffee into the cups and serve immediately.
