Amritsari Fish Pakora | Indian style #Glutenfree fish fritters


Ingredients -

  • 1 kg Fresh Water Fish Cubes

  • 1 Cup Plain Yogurt

  • 5 Tbsp Besan

  • 1 tsp Ginger Paste

  • 1 Tsp Garlic Paste

  • 1/2 Can Club Soda

  • 2 Fresh Lime

  • 1 Cup Refine Soyabean or Sunflower Oil

Spices -

  • 1 Tsp Carom seeds (Ajwain)

  • 1 Tsp Red Chili Powder

  • 2 Tsp Salt - as per taste

  • 1 Tbsp Chat Masala

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, add yogurt, ginger and garlic paste, besan and all the spices.

  2. Mix everything to form a lump free batter.

  3. Now add the fish fillet in the batter and evenly coat all the sides.

  4. Cover the bowl with cling wrap or plate and place in fridge for 15 minutes (marination).

  5. Heat oil in a wok on high flame for about a minute.

  6. Now take out the fish from fridge and very carefully, add 2-3 pieces of fishes in the hot oil.

  7. Reduce the flame to medium and fry the fish till they become crisp golden brown (takes about 2 minutes for each fish to cook on both sides).

  8. Continue the process till all the fishes are fried and cooked.

Place the fried fish in a serving bowl, squeeze some fresh lime juice and sprinkle with chat masala. Serve fresh and hot.

Ingredients

  • 8 Bread Slices - Cut into triangle

  • 1 Cup Corn - You can use fresh /frozen or canned corn

  • 1 Cup Capsicum/Bell Pepper - thinly chopped

  • 1 Cup Onion - thinly chopped

  • 1/2 Cup Tomatoes - thinly chopped

  • 2 Tbsp Colored Bell Pepper

  • 1/4 Cup Cheese - shredded

White Sauce Ingredients :

  • 2 Tbsp All Purpose Flour

  • 2 Tbsp Butter

  • 1/2 Cup Milk

  • Salt as per taste

  • Pinch of Black Pepper

Instructions

  1. In a nonstick pan, heat 2 tbsp butter.

  2. Once the butter is melted, add all purpose flour and mix evenly.

  3. Keep the heat at low and saute the butter - flour mix for 2 minutes.

  4. Add milk and mix evenly to form a smooth batter.

  5. Add salt, pepper, all the mentioned veggies and keep mixing the batter till it thickens.

  6. Turn of the heat and remove the pan and let this mixture cool a bit.

  7. Spoon the mixture over each slice (cut into a triangle) and sprinkle with cheese.

  8. Place the slices on a baking tray and bake for 4 minutes.

  9. Remove the baked cheese corn toast from the baking tray and serve fresh.

Fish Chop or Macher Chop as we call it in West Bengal, is a popular snack recipe that is loved by people of all ages. If you are a sea food enthusiast or a person who loves fish, then you must try this Bengali fish recipe. Prepare this enticing starter recipe at your kitty party, pot luck and buffet and amaze your guests with your diverse culinary skills.


Ingredients:

  •  4 fillet of bone less of any white fish like Bhetki, Rohu etc

  • 2 big potatoes

  • 1 big onion

  • 2 table spoon of lime juice

  • 1 table spoon ginger paste

  • 1 table spoon garlic paste

  • 1 green chilli cut into small pieces

  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (as per taste)

  • 1/2 tablespoon garam masala

  • Bunch of fresh coriander

  • Salt as per taste

  • 1 cup bread crumb

  • 1 egg for egg wash

  • Oil for deep frying

Instructions :

  • Take the skin off the potatoes, wash and boil them. Keep aside to cool

  • Meanwhile slice onion into thin slices

  • Heat oil on a frying pan and fry the onions till little brownish

  • Add ginger and garlic and fry till oil separates

  • Add fish fillets ( pre washed) and fry  for 2/3mins

  • Add salt, chilli powder and half the garam masala

  • Fry the fish thoroughly and then keep aside

  • Meanwhile mash the potatoes and add lemon juice , rest of the garam masala, fried fish, coriander, green chili ( if using) and mash properly

  • Meanwhile spread the bread crumb on a plate

  • Break the egg and beat in

  • Divide the mixture into small or medium shaped round patties.

  • Heat oil in a shallow frying pan.

  • Coat each patty with breadcrumb and then soak into egg

  • Immediate place them on hot oil and fry till brown

Serve hot along  with Kasundi and onion or tomato ketchup.
